ABOUT GOLDEN ORB RECORDS:
Golden Orb Records is an Australian based electronic/dance label focusing on pushing a unique blend of deep, atmospheric downbeat, electronic dub and drum & bass music
Starting out in 2008 as a digital drum & bass label, Golden Orb (GOR) burst on to the emerging digital drum & bass market to provide dj's and music lovers with a flavour of drum&bass which wasn't being represented on the vinyl market. Fusing soulful liquid sounds with deep atmosphere, Golden Orb wanted to aid a revival of the 90's sounds championed by the likes of LTJ Bukem, Big Bud and DJ Nookie, but with a more upfront, modern sensibility
Being one of the first purely digital drum & bass labels on the scene, Golden Orb Records enjoyed a degree of success through record sales and publicity throughout 2008 and 2009. But at the start of 2010 label boss Operon started to move away from drum & bass, compelling the decision to postpone releases on the label until a new creative angle could be decided upon
Now in 2012 Golden Orb Records is back in business concentrating on pushing a more eclectic mix of chill-out, electronic dub and left-field drum & bass. Compositions which afford the ability to chime with music appreciators from many backgrounds, not just die-hard drum & bass fans. Atmospheric music that whilst still bass-heavy and beat-driven, transcends the confines of the dance-floor to enter a realm of immersive listening delectation

Due to hit all the major download stores including beatport and I-Tunes on the 18th of June, this EP epitomises the musical direction of the new look label with an eclectic mix of deep, dub flavoured chill, trip-hop and leftfield drum & bass
The 3 track EP includes ‘Integers’ original mix and feature remixes from ‘Operon’ (Brisbane Australia) and a grimey trip-hop remix by Melbourne’s ‘Stickleback’ (Tempest Records)

Harmonize is a brand new festival to hit Southeast Queensland in 2012. Kingfisha Album Launch

Earth Frequency Festival is most honoured to be presenting the launch of Kingfisha's debut album.
Kingfisha are a band of musicians from Brisbane drawn together through their love of Jamaican rhythms and music. Within this rhythmic framework Kingfisha strive to create songs with strong melodies and honest lyrics.
One of Brisbane's stand-out bands, Kingfisha have carved themselves a solid reputation over the past few years with mainstage slots at Island Vibe, Earth Frequency Festival and performances at Blues Fest, Woodford, ReggaeTown and more. Their debut album is set for release in June, and with a solid supporting lineup including Kooii, The Strides, Bullhorn and special guest Integer launching his debut EP 'The Ladder' on Golden Orb Records. this launch gig is set to be a special slice of Brisbane music history .
